The Neighborhoods of District Six

District 6 comprises many of Atlanta’s most distinguished and vibrant neighborhoods. Neigbhorhoods that are located in District 6 include:

Ansley Park	Morningside Lenox Park
Atkins Park	Piedmont Heights
Candler Park	Ponce Corridor East
Druid Hills	Sherwood Forest
Lindridge Martin Manor	Virginia Highlands
Midtown

Many of these neighborhoods have strong and active neighborhood and civic associations. Each neighborhood is part of a Neighborhood Planning Unit (NPU) which are organizations comprised of citizens from multiple neighborhoods. NPUs make recommendations to the Mayor and City Council on issues related to zoning, planning, and land-use. The NPUs represented by District 6 include portions of E, F, and N.

Included in District 6 are several of the city’s finest schools, fire stations, and police stations. Neighborhood watch programs have also been established in several of the district’s neighborhoods. In addition, there are many points of interest located in or about District 6 including city parks, museums, art galleries, and shopping districts.
